With the new CX-3 and refreshed 6 and CX-5, unveiled, the Hiroshima automaker is probably out of ammunition for Detroit. And since Mazda's most market shares comes from the coasts, the LA and NY shows are more important for Mazda, than Detroit could ever be.

Detroit Auto Show Cold. L.A. Auto Show Warm. Right Decision.

When I said that it's a good idea to move the Detroit show, in the car news empty, August, people acted like I was crazy. Let them freeze.

August is already car-heavy due to all the classic cruises and whatnot. People don't have the time and the infrastructure can't take all the summer vacation travel as well as people trying to do NAIAS and attendance would probably be down.

Besides, not a single problem with January. Cold isn't a reason to not celebrate cars. In fact, I like the auto shows in MI being during the winter, it gives you something to do during the offseason.
